Near-infrared observations of the gas structure and kinematics in the circumnuclear region of NGC 1672

Abstract: We present our near-infrared, integral-field spectroscopy observations of the central 550 × 550 pc2 (10″ × 10″) of the local galaxy NGC 1672. Our aim is to investigate the morphology and kinematics of gas and stars to probe evidence for feeding and feedback phenomena. For this purpose the near-infrared wavelength regime and integral-field unit technique provide a vast amount of useful information. The narrow emission line ratios suggest that the galaxy hosts a low-luminosity active galactic nucleus. From the M… Show more

“…Our purely morphological study presented here can be seen complementary to IFU studies in the NIR of other nearby AGN as carried out for example, by Busch et al (2017), Fazeli et al (2020b) and Fazeli et al (2020a). These studies allow to derive a detailed view of the nuclear rings of nearby AGN such as the kinematics of their gas and stars.…”

“…-NGC 1433: Evidence for a central molecular outflow is reported by Combes et al (2013, in CO (3-2) 2019) study the cold molecular gas torus in the central region and do not find evidence for an outflow. Fazeli et al (2020) rules out the presence of an outflow in hot molecular and ionized gas.…”
