Battery-Less NFC Bicycle Tire Pressure Sensor Based on a Force-Sensing Resistor

This paper describes a novel low-cost tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for bicycles. The system is based on a battery-less near field communication (NFC) tag that integrates a pressure sensor, which is placed between the tire and the inner tube. The system uses no battery since the energy is obtained from the magnetic field induced by the reader in order to establish the communication. The pressure can be read by any NFC-enabled reader such as a smartphone. The pressure sensor is a force-sensing resistor (FSR) that controls the oscillation frequency of a 555 timer-based oscillator. The frequency is read and computed by a microcontroller, and the result is written via I C bus to the memory of a near-field communication integrated circuit (IC), which is read by a commercial smartphone or NFC reader. A prototype is designed on an FR4 substrate which integrates a 12×16 mm antenna connected to the NFC IC (NT3H211 from NXP). The proposed prototype has a 3D-printed enclosure to protect the components mounted on the surface of the PCB and to protect the tire from puncture. A system for characterizing the read range is presented. The tag requires a minimum magnetic field of 2.9 A RM S /m to operate up to a distance of 8 mm between reader and the tire, providing enough power to supply energy to the whole circuitry and to receive the information stored at the NFC IC. The system has been tested with a 59 mm-width mountain bike tire. The sensor has been characterized using a simple polynomial fitting to obtain the pressure from the measurement of the oscillation frequency. An accuracy of 0.1 has been accomplished in the range of 0.5 to 2.2 bar. To test the system, several inflation cycles have been performed and showed that the system presents good repeatability.

<span>Web-based degree document certification system with a digital signature in Semarang University has a purpose to support academic to do online document certification through a system. The main problem which occurs in academic administration is a long document certification process that causes an ineffective and inefficient certification process. To solve the problem, a system that can encrypt a document for better security is required. This system is built with the advanced encryption standard algorithm with a 128-bit sized key to encrypt confidential information inside the document. During the encryption process, this algorithm operates using 4x4 bit array blocks and passing many encryption processes for at least 10 (ten) times. The application is analyzed with object-oriented analysis and modeled with Unified modeling language. The result of this research is a system which can secure document with AES algorithm with a 256-bit sized key. The security element in this algorithm will make easier to identify the owner of the document. The secured document is easily accessible through PHP-based web or available QR code. When decrypting the document, the application will activate the camera function and decrypt the information document.</span>

Development of information technology (IT) is used to support business sector, including banking. One of them, banking uses IT to improve the quality of service in the form of internet banking and mobile banking. Therefor, the research focused on development of mobile banking system using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology as client authentication and security system. Features on mobile banking system are checking balance information, mutation, electricity bill, a fellow bank transfer and transfers between Bank that has been working with ATM Bersama, as well as payment of electricity bills. System development using JAVA programming language with Android Studio tools, to access server using PHP with MySQL as database management, IdWebHost as hosting services, as well as data output using JSON format. Data collection method is done with interview stage and literature study. Researcher uses system development methods of Rapid Application Development (RAD), while testing using unit testing and user acceptance testing. Result of the study is secure mobile banking system utilizing Near Field Communication technology, PIN, and AES encryption.
