“…As it currently stands, demographic information of NCME membership for full members and graduate students is not tracked and disseminated on a frequent basis. We argue that recreating this committee would be beneficial as it would (a) provide concerted efforts and resources to increasing recruitment that may not be available to individual graduate programs and (b) allow for NCME membership to offer suggestions on approaches to increasing recruitment of diverse individuals into the field (see Sireci & Khaliq, 2002). Without such information, it is difficult to gauge whether increases in diversity are being made.…”

More up-todate research is needed on the SAT in general.…”

“…Several leaders in the field and subcommittees of professional organizations have provided a multitude of insightful and potentially powerful strategies for addressing the supply‐and‐demand problem (e.g., APA Task Force, 2009; Sireci, 2000; Sireci & Khaliq, 2002). A common suggestion for increasing the number of qualified professionals is to increase visibility.…”

“…When Sireci and Khaliq (2002) surveyed over 100 National Council of Measurement in Education (NCME) members asking how we could increase awareness of the field and recruit new measurement professionals, a common response was to focus on undergraduate students. As noted by Sireci (2000), “the most serious problem for us to overcome in recruiting new professionals is that most undergraduates have never heard of psychometrics or educational measurement” (p. 6).…”
