NCAPH promotes proliferation as well as motility of breast cancer cells by activating the PI3K/AKT pathway

Abstract: Objective This study aimed to assess the expression of NCAPH in human breast cancer, and to investigate its effects on breast cancer cells. Methods Bioinformation analysis was performed to analyze the expression of NCAPH in human breast cancer tissues and normal tissues in TCGA database. qPCR and Immunoblot assays were performed to clarify the expression of NCAPH in breast cancer tissues and cell lines, respectively. CCK-8, colony formation… Show more

“…Except for the role of ERFE in genomics and chromosomes, our study also identified co-expression of ERFE and IL-11 , a known activator of PI3K-AKT and mTOR signaling pathways [ 43 , 44 ]. In addition, NCAPH expression was also reported to accelerate the tumor progression via PI3K-AKT signaling [ 45 , 46 ]. The activation of a core cancer regulating PI3K-AKT pathway was further validated by GSEA analysis in nine types of tumors in this study.…”

“…The PI3K pathway has emerged as a key player in BC development [ 6 , 7 ]. The PI3K pathway governs a wide range of cellular processes through its signaling mechanism, such as cell growth [ 8 , 9 ], survival [ 10 , 11 ], metabolism [ 8 , 12 ] and motility [ 13 ]. Dysregulation of the PI3K pathway is linked with several aspects of BC development and progression [ 14 , 15 ].…”
