The strategic direction and level of competitiveness of tourism businesses and locations are now determined by the impact of smart technology on the industry. The objective of this article is to showcase the concept of "smartness" by analyzing the latest advancements in wellness technology and exploring the development of smart wellness cities. Through all stages of travel, technology-enabled tourism experiences increasingly assist travelers in co-creating value. Intelligence in the Environment (AmI) Tourism is propelled forward by several emerging technologies. Innovation is used to enhance or help the destination's ecotourism management system. Hotels can accommodate and serve tourists of all levels according to tourist’s expectations. Technological advancements bring together a wide range of stakeholders. Additionally, technological developments bring together a diverse variety of stakeholders in tourism services. Moreover, it enlisted the assistance of all parties, including Chiang Mai public health and the municipal. Smart environments will inevitably transform industry structures, processes, and practices, resulting in consequences on innovation capability, strategic planning, management, marketing, and the competitiveness of all stakeholders.

Singapore relies heavily on the tourism industry, which was severely affected by COVID-19. During the early phase of the pandemic, the Singapore government created a campaign reassuring locals and encouraging them to “travel” within Singapore. During the pandemic, travelers’ focus shifted to pandemic-related topics. This study examined 8441 customer textual reviews from seven luxury hotels in the Marina Bay area through Google Travel derived from SCTM 3.0. In order to determine the new attributes affecting customer satisfaction, this study used UCINET 6.0 and Text2Data as part of text mining. Subsequently, SPSS was used for descriptive analysis and regression analysis to identify the relationship between the attributes in the customer textual reviews and the overall satisfaction of the customers. The results showed that all the attributes were significant in terms of overall customer satisfaction, with three attributes, sentiment polarity, readability, and word length, positively affecting overall customer satisfaction. Through social media and online platforms, consumers express their thoughts and feelings about online reviews of many products and services. With the adopted methodology, the industry may be able to benefit from this abundance of information in order to adjust strategies and increase financial benefits post-COVID-19.

Training needs assessment for tourism businesses in Tanzania

There is clear evidence of the skill gaps between the skills offered in training institutions and the skills required by the tourism market in Tanzania. This paper intends to assess training needs among tourism businesses in the country. The study employed a qualitative method in which Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews were conducted among MSMEs in the tourism industry in Tanzania. It involved a total of 117 respondents (63 females and 54 males), with the majority being tourism businesses. The study revealed that tourism businesses have varying levels of basic education, as well as specific tourism education levels. The MSMEs lack different skills and competencies, due in part to their lines of business, the levels of involvement with their business, and customer transactions. There is a need to move towards a more professional tourism business development approach and practice. This can best be achieved when a greater number of tourism MSMEs in the eight tourism sub-sectors from the five circuits work more closely together in formal location-based, cross-sub-sector circuits to gain leverage on their synergies. Also, there is a need to identify tourism skills gaps and propose mitigation measures for capacity-building training initiatives that focus on tourism business development to make Tanzania destination more competitive.
