Abstract: Pneumoperitoneum refers to the presence of free air in the abdominal cavity, typically indicating viscus perforation requiring urgent surgical intervention. Occasionally, pneumoperitoneum occurs without organ perforation, termed 'spontaneous' or 'non-surgical' pneumoperitoneum.
