NaviCom: a web application to create interactive molecular network portraits using multi-level omics data

Abstract: Human diseases such as cancer are routinely characterized by high-throughput molecular technologies, and multi-level omics data are accumulated in public databases at increasing rate. Retrieval and visualization of these data in the context of molecular network maps can provide insights into the pattern of regulation of molecular functions reflected by an omics profile. In order to make this task easy, we developed NaviCom, a Python package and web platform for visualization of multi-level omics data on top of… Show more

“…NetGestalt [41] is an advanced tool for integration of multidimensional omics data, exploiting simple and easily readable one-dimensional layouts of gene networks. NaviCom [8] is a novel development that attempts to visualize multi-omics profiles to gain insights into the patterns of regulation of molecular functions. In general, each omics visualization tool has advantages and disadvantages.…”

“…To facilitate navigation and usage, the map is divided into functional modules. This systems biology resource is freely available, allows easy navigation and curation by the community, facilitated by several web-based platforms such as NaviCell [24], MINERVA [25], and NDEx [26]. Finally, we demonstrate that the RCD map can be used as a tool for comparison of cell death regulation in several human diseases.…”

“…NaviCom (https://navicom.curie.fr) is a platform to generate interactive network based molecular portraits using high-throughput datasets. Additionally, NaviCom connects with the cBioPortal database (www.cbioportal.org) (Cerami et al, 2014) and NaviCell web service, and it allows to display various high-throughput data types simultaneously on the network maps in a user-friendly way (Dorel et al, 2017).…”
