“…In pp collisions, the σ meson can be emitted from the intermediate isovector dibaryons as was claimed in [20]. Further, the recent work [33] has demonstrated a crucial role of the dibaryons (both isovector and isoscalar) located near the N N * (1440) threshold in elastic and inelastic Swave N N scattering. In particular, a clear indication of such a dibaryon formation has been found in the data on pp-induced two-pion production [55].…”

“…Thus, to move further one needs a sort of hybrid model combining both quark-gluon and meson-exchange aspects of the N N interaction. The specific model for the nuclear force which unifies both quark-gluon and meson-exchange features -the dibaryon (or dibaryoninduced) model -was developed by Kukulin et al in the last two decades [27,28,29,30,31,32,33] (in the early studies [27,28,29,30] it was called "the dressedbag model"). The model allowed for a very good description of both elastic and inelastic N N scattering phase shifts from zero energy up to T lab = 600-800 MeV (or even up to 1 GeV in some partial waves) [31,32,33] and the deuteron properties [30] using only a few basic parameters.…”
