“…The presence of grahamite deposits in the Ouachita area, and the degree of thermal maturity of the region, support the view that the Page impsonite originated from thermallyaltered grahamite formed from an asphaltene-rich asphalt (Cardott,199 1). The grahamiteimpsonite conversion process, however, has not been documented for the corresponding samples (Cardott et al, 1993).…”

“…Asphaltite (grahamite) and asphaltic pyrobitumen (impsonite) deposits are found in a number of localities in the Ouachita Mountains (Oklahoma, USA); the best known occurrences are in the Page and Windingstair locations, in southern Le Flore County (Cardott et al, 1993), where the deposits occur in pure form as veins or fissure fillings. Grahamite occurs at the Sardis location (northern Pushamataha County).…”

“…Microprobe analysis is carried out for reworked vitrinite grains and two other vein types of pyrobitumen. Other authors also mentioned the detection limit problem (Belin 1994;Cardott 2007). Pyrite growing over the reworked vitrinite appears in globular framboids or sometimes polyframboids was found only in the first group of samples.…”
