Natural and economic effects of renewable energy sources in the developing countries: a case of Azerbaijan

Abstract: This paper focuses in the natural and economic effects of renewable energy sources in the developing countries using a case of Azerbaijan. Traditional fuel supplies dependent on gas, oil, and coal are highly useful for the development of a country’s economy. However, certain detrimental effects of these commodities on the environment have limited us to use these resources under clear cut-off points. As a result, we were able to turn our intuition into renewable energy sources. By using renewable energy sources… Show more

“…Заключение Многочисленные исследования показывают, что Азербайджан располагает экологически чистыми источниками энергии, такими как гидроэнергия, энергия ветра и геотермальная энергия, что делает страну идеальным местом для производства возобновляемой энергии (Rzayeva et al, 2021). Однако на пути развития возобновляемой энергетики стоят такие проблемы, как субсидии на ископаемое топливо, институциональные проблемы и вопросы управления.…”

“…In a study by Gulaliyev (2020), the resource, technical, economic and market potential, ecology, and economic efficiency of solar energy in Azerbaijan were investigated. An article by Rzayeva et al (2021) discusses these, and other issues related to the application of renewable energy and evaluates Azerbaijan's potentials in adapting this type of energy in the future. As a result of a study examining the relationship between traditional energy production, renewable energy production and unemployment rates in Azerbaijan, a causal relationship was found between unemployment and renewable energy production, renewable energy production and traditional energy production in Azerbaijan according to 2005-2015 data (Huseynli and Huseynli, 2022).…”

“…On the other hand, when the adverse impacts of climate change generated by end-of-pipe technologies with waste generation potential were increasingly believed to need to be mitigated, clean technology was adopted, complementing the objectives of the two previous technological approaches by enhancing strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, minimize pollution, reduce the use of natural resources, especially fossil fuels, and promote a sustainable circular economy. Net Zero Carbon or Net Zero Energy programs supported by technologies such as wind power, solar power, hydropower, nanotechnology, and recycling processes are GT products that are considered environmentally friendly (Algburi, 2015;Rzayeva et al, 2021) and are widely promoted.…”
