Abstract: 1 Throughout this essay, the term Native American periodicals is used when referring to Native North American serialized print publications. Otherwise, we follow Mishuana Goeman's lead and use "American Indian," "Native," "Indigenous," and "Native American" alternately throughout this essay depending on context.
