Abstract

nationalism in the context of Political analysisThe causes, essence and prospects of nationalism in multi-ethnic Russia are analyzed. The main manifestations of national contradictions in socio-political life in the former soviet countries are considered. The authors conclude that the growth of ethnic consciousness of Russians, which serves as a replacement of state ideology, is a negative result of the process of building a nation state where the public policy conforms to corporate interests.
