“…[8][9][10][11][12] Thus, after several stages of refinements, these flaps provide not only excellent color and texture match, but also appropriate skin adaptability and recreation of subtle nasal features. 4,5,7,12 Their use also prevents face and/or neck exploration for microvascular anastomosis and exhibits acceptable donor site morbidity. However, significant scars in these and other donor sites for local flaps, usually seen after deep facial burns, increase the difficulties to provide a safe foundation and reliable tissue resurfacing for the nasal reconstruction.…”

“…4,5,7 The nasolabial flap has also been described as an important surgical option to repair defects of the nose. [8][9][10][11][12] Venous congestion is one of the major flap complications in nasal reconstruction. This is prevalent in patients with panfacial burns and skin graft resurfacing because of the lack of subdermal plexus and eventually the damage of the supratrochlear vessels that run superficial to the frontalis muscle.…”

“…Multiple 2 tests were used to analyze most of the data except cases in which cell counts were less than 5, in which case Fisher exact test was used. We did not make adjustment for multiple comparisons.…”

“…9 In the case of the dorsal nasal flap, despite being an ideal option for tip defect coverage, it is considered to be a poor choice for the coverage of complex defects that extend under the nasal tipdefining points. 10 The nasolabial flap is a traditionally supported option for use in alar, sidewall, columella and intraoral reconstruction. 5 Many features make this flap ideal for nasal reconstruction, such as the similarity in colour and texture to that of the nose, the proximity to the defect, and the low donor-site aesthetic morbidity, as the donor scar is concealed in the nasolabial fold.…”
