“…One, nasal mycetoma, was considered due to fungal infection and could be differentiated from nasal granuloma by histology of the lesions. Carbonell referred to the work of Hore (1966) [6] who consistently isolated fungi of the genus Fusarium from the nasal mucus of cattle with nasal granuloma but not from a small number of normal cattle. He found also that fungal spores and hyphae were more numerous in nasal scrapings of cattle with nasal granuloma.…”

“…Nasal granuloma has been recognised in dairy cattle in Victoria for more than thirty five years (Seddon 1965). Clinical signs and lesions of nasal granuloma have been described by O'Connor ( 1961 ) and Hore (1966) reported on the development of the disease in individual animals and in affected herds. It was observed that many cattle with prominent lesions showed no evidence of nasal discharge or respiratory distress.…”

“…Nasal granuloma as seen in dairy and occasionally beef cattle is thought to be a single entity although the size and appearance of lesions may vary in an affected herd (Hore 1966). The gross and histological features of nasal granuloma appear to be similar to chronic granular rhinitis of cattle which was recently reported to be prevalent in New Zealand (Curtis and Sutton 1972).…”
