Nanotechnology in Textiles

Abstract: Increasing customer demand for durable and functional apparel manufactured in a sustainable manner has created an opportunity for nanomaterials to be integrated into textile substrates. Nanomoieties can induce stain repellence, wrinkle-freeness, static elimination, and electrical conductivity to fibers without compromising their comfort and flexibility. Nanomaterials also offer a wider application potential to create connected garments that can sense and respond to external stimuli via electrical, color, or ph… Show more

“…They are accompanying to its saccharide structure 22 . In the case of AgNPs, the band of CO 2 " is shifted to 1613 cm −1 in addition the peaks of 3435 and 1414 cm −1 shift to 3422 and 1384 cm −1 due to ring stretching of metal groups and indicating that Na-Alg was doped by NO 3 − because of the stabilization of Ag-NPs. The comparison of FTIR spectra between the Na-Alg and Na-Alg/Ag-NPs showed only minor changes in the position as well as the absorption bands.…”

“…For example, Prof. Yun and his co-workers at Harvard University, USA, have been working on textiles integrated with electronic and photonic nanomaterials for applications in the areas of digital displays, sensing, and drug delivery within the background of their performance, durability, and connectivity [57]. Figure 3 depicts ideas of applications of nanotechnology in e-textiles.…”

“…in the recent past [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. Among various transition metal nanoparticles (MNPs), the palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) have drawn significant attention of the scientific community because of its efficiency as a catalyst for C-C coupling reactions which is one of the most powerful transformations in organic chemistry [10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17].…”
