Nanotechnology based strategies for HIV-1 and HTLV-1 retroviruses gene detection

Abstract: Early detection of retroviruses including human T-cell lymphotropic virus and human immunodeficiency virus in the human body is indispensable to prevent retroviral infection propagation and improve clinical treatment. Until now, diverse techniques have been employed for the early detection of viruses. Traditional methods are timeconsuming, resource-intensive, and laborious performing. Therefore, designing and constructing a selective and sensitive diagnosis system to detect serious diseases is highly demanded.… Show more

“…Fluorescence-based nucleic acid assay is widely used due to its high sensitivity, diversity, and ease of operation [ 80 ]. Fluorescence occurs when a valence electron of molecule or atom is excited from its ground state and causes the emission of a photon when the excited electron returns to its original ground state [ 81 ].…”

“…Then the tunneling current is in response to the distance from the tip to the surface, and the localized AuNPs produce a pulse current peak at the localization position. The frequency of the peak current was used to quantify the number of HIV particles according to the immune response associated with Au NPs (Mozhgani et al, 2020).…”

“…The retrovirus is a RNA virus whereby its DNA is integrated into its host chromosomal DNA. 8 , 82 Detection at the early stage of infection may be difficult due to the rare proviral DNA expression in the infected host. 99 The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), which belongs to the genus Lentivirus within the family of Retroviridae and subfamily Orthoretrovirinae 99 is a human retrovirus.…”
