Nanoporous Hollow Transition Metal Chalcogenide Nanosheets Synthesized via the Anion-Exchange Reaction of Metal Hydroxides with Chalcogenide Ions

Abstract: Nanoporous hollow transition metal chalcogenides are of special interest for a variety of promising applications. Although some advanced synthetic methods have been reported, the development of a facile and general strategy to fabricate porous hollow nanostructures of transition metal chalcogenides, especially with enhanced electrocatalytic performance, still remains highly challenged. Herein, we report a facile chemical transformation strategy to prepare nanoporous hollow Co3S4 nanosheets via the anion exchan… Show more

“…Besides, it is noted that the ion-exchange reaction could adjust the composition, structure and properties, taking a great effect on the purity and morphology of the NiCo2S4 [15,16] and it seems hard to obtain pure spinel NiCo2S4 by directly reacting Ni 2+ and Co 2+ with S 2-. Some sulphides such as Na2S [8,14,[17][18][19], thiourea [20,21] and thioacetamide [9,14] have been employed to prepared NiCo2S4 recently, and excellent electrochemical performance was demonstrated.…”

“…Zhao et al explored a facile and general anion exchange strategy to synthesize the nanoporous hollow TMC nanosheets via chalcogenide ion exchange the transition metal hydroxides. [54] For example, nanoporous hollow Co 3 S 4 nanosheets with microsized sheet-like geometry can be obtained by anion exchange reaction of Co(OH) 2 nanosheets with thioacetamide. This method was general to the synthesis of other porous TMCs, including CoSe 2 , CoTe 2 , CdS, and NiS.…”

“…The continuous oxidation could be extended from the outer surface to the interior space. Finally, porous CuO spheres resulting from Kirkendall effect are formed until all Cu 2 O are consumed and completely transformed to CuO by reacting with oxygen [46][47][48]. Cu 2 O oxidation can be also contributed to lattice diffusion.…”
