Nanoparticulate apatite and greenalite in oldest, well-preserved hydrothermal vent precipitates

Abstract: Paleoarchean jaspilites are used to track ancient ocean chemistry and photoautotrophy because they contain hematite interpreted to have formed following biological oxidation of vent-derived Fe(II) and seawater P-scavenging.
