Nanomechanical-resonator-assisted induced transparency in a Cooper-pair box system

Abstract: We propose a scheme to demonstrate the electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in a system of a superconducting Cooper-pair box coupled to a nanomechanical resonator. In this scheme, the nanomechanical resonator plays an important role to contribute additional auxiliary energy levels to the Cooper-pair box so that the EIT phenomenon could be realized in such a system. We call it here resonator-assisted induced transparency (RAIT). This RAIT technique provides a detection scheme in a real experiment to m… Show more

“…The coupled CPB-NR system has been proposed to measure the vibration frequency of the NR by calculating the absorption spectrum [23]. On the other hand, NRs have widely been used as mass sensors by measuring the resonant frequency shift because of the added mass of the bound particles.…”

“…Electromagnetically-induced transparency (e.g., Refs. [20][21][22][23][24][25][26]) in superconducitng systems has also been theoretically studied. Moreover, Autler-Townes splitting [26][27][28][29][30][31][32] and coherent population trapping [33] have been experimentally demonstrated in different types of SQs with three energy levels.…”
