“…Iron, nickel, cobalt and their oxides constitute the core of most of the MNPs. The surface of the MNPs is frequently covered by molecular imprinted polymers, silica or graphene, in order to avoid nanoparticles aggregation [55]. Once the sorption of the analyte is complete on the magnetic sorbent, they are separated by an external magnetic field.…”

“…Therefore, any additional step of physical separation (i.e., centrifugation, filtration) is required. The analyte is eluted by magnetic separation of the regenerated solvent, resulting in a simple and fast methodology [55]. Considering the multiple advantages of MSPE, there is an unquestionable trend on its application to Hg (and other heavy metal ions).…”

“…In the 364 articles cited (no titles) there is one citation to the determination of butyltin compounds (by GC separation on single-walled carbon nanotubes). In contrast, the second review 18 surface enhanced Raman and fluorescence spectroscopies. The reviewers conclude that although speciation analysis is a well-established research field performing it is still an "analytical challenge."…”

“…A large variety of non-chromatographic systems for separation and preconcentration of Cr(VI), mainly in natural and waste water samples have been described [14][15][16]. During the recent years ionic liquids tend to be one of the most promising green extractants and due to their unique properties, they reasonably find numerous analytical applications in different extraction procedures [17,18].…”
