Nanoceria and Its Perspective in Cancer Treatment

Abstract: From the birth of mankind, cancer is known as one of the most notorious and deadly diseases human kinds has ever faced on this earth. Many methods and ways are implemented to eliminate this disease and the number is still on the increasing side. It's been a couple of decades that the idea of nanotechnology was first introduced, where nanoparticle is part of that. Cerium oxide nanoparticle also known as nanoceria is one of the metal oxide nanoparticles which holds promise to treat cancer effectively. Scientists… Show more

“…Due to these advantageous properties, NPs show profound applications in the field of biomedicine (Sharma and Das 2019;Singh et al 2020;Tejwan et al 2020;Thakur et al 2019) especially to treat different types of cancers (Aplak et al 2020;Boobalan et al 2020;Gomathi et al 2020;Gowdhami et al 2019;Khorsandi and Farasat 2020;Munawer et al 2020). Among various NPs, CeO 2 NPs or nanoceria has emerged as a potential nanomaterial and attained much attention of nano-biotechnologists due to its unique chemical, physical, and surface properties (Kuddus 2017). Besides, it also shows a wide range of applications in other areas, such as in optical devices, ultraviolet absorbers, fuel cells, catalysis, gas sensors, polishing materials, and hydrogen storage materials (Thakur et al 2019).…”
