Nano‐to‐Macroscale Poly(methyl methacrylate) Stereocomplex Assemblies

Abstract: Faszinierende Morphologien von stereoregulärem Polymethylmethacrylat (PMMA) entstanden bei der Stereokomplexierung komplementärer PMMA‐Stränge zu Tripelhelices. Die unterschiedlichen Polymerhelix‐Anordnungen wurden aus syndiotaktischem (blau im Bild) und isotaktischem PMMA (orange) durch Einstellen von Mischungsverhältnis und Konzentration aufgebaut.

“…123 The syndiospecific living radical polymerization of MMA was first carried out with Ru(Cp*)Cl(PPh 3 ) 2 in PhC(CF 3 ) 2 OH to give the syndiotactic-rich PMMA with the dormant C-Cl terminals. The isolated linear PMMA chain was then linked together by Ru(Ind)Cl(PPh 3 ) 2 in the presence of ethylene glycol dimethacrylate to result in star polymers with syndiotactic PMMA arms in a high yield 495%.…”
