N‐Doped TiO2/SrTiO3 Heterostructured Nanotubes for High‐Efficiency Photoelectrocatalytic Properties under Visible‐Light Irradiation

Abstract: N‐doped TiO2/SrTiO3 heterostructured nanotubes with a highly reactive {001} facet of anatase TiO2 are fabricated by a combination of traditional anodization and conventional hydrothermal treatment. The photoelectrocatalytic and photoelectrochemical properties of the resulting nanotubes are investigated through the degradation of methylene blue and measurements of transient photocurrent and open‐circuit voltage, and the results are compared with those obtained with reference TiO2 and N‐doped TiO2 nanotubes. The… Show more

“…between TiO 2 and STO/TiO 2 was contributed from an intrinsic combination of STO and TiO 2 O 2p orbital. 29 The further decreased BG between STO/TiO 2 and H:(STO/TiO 2 ) after hydrogenation is consistent with a strong absorption observed in the range of visible light (Figure 1a). 3.1.2.…”

“…This systematically decreasing behavior was observed among the materials obtained in the formation of the STO composite, hydrogenation, and Au-NP loading process. The BG narrowing between TiO 2 and STO/TiO 2 was contributed from an intrinsic combination of STO and TiO 2 O 2p orbital . The further decreased BG between STO/TiO 2 and H:(STO/TiO 2 ) after hydrogenation is consistent with a strong absorption observed in the range of visible light (Figure a).…”

“…For example, BiOI/BiOCl heterojunctions with contacted facets of BiOI (001)/BiOCl (010) exhibit a higher charge injection efficiency than their counterparts with contacted facets of BiOI (001)/BiOCl (001) due to the optimized electron transfer pathway . Other faceted heterojunctions such as {001}TiO 2 /{001}SrTiO 3 epitaxial films, coaxial-nanocoupled SrTiO 3 /TiO 2 {001} nanotube arrays, ultrathin g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets decorated Bi 2 MoO 6 nanosheet arrays with exposed {010} facets, α-Fe 2 O 3 modified TiO 2 {101} pyramids, {001}BiOI@Bi 12 O 17 Cl 2 p–n junctions, {002} dominant WO 3 /BiVO 4 junctions, and {001}BiOBr/α-Fe 2 O 3 p–n junctions also show enhanced PEC performance.…”

“…In addition, three peaks were discovered by fitting the curves. The peak at 399.5 eV (peak 1) was attributed to substitutional N for O in the form of O-Ti-N bonding, at 400.1 eV (peak 2) to the interstitial N-O bonds of the crystal lattice 37 and at 401.4 eV (peak 3) to nitrogen species bound to various surface oxygen sites (such as adsorbed NOx). 19 The atomic percentages of Ti, O, F, N and Sn in the N-TiO 2 /SnO 2 sample were approximately 30.34, 57.75, 1.87, 3.09, and 2.23 at% in the XPS measurement, respectively, which was consistent with the result obtained from EDX (Fig.…”
