Abstract: Myosits ossificans (MO) is a rare but important differential diagnosis for a heterotrophic bony tumor in the muscles. It is often misdiagnosed as a malignant tumor. With a previous trauma the diagnosis is myositis ossificans traumatic (MOT). In most cases, it is benign and predominantly seen in the big muscles. But there can be malignant etiologies too.
