Abstract: Background Post severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI), axonal alterations lead to myelin loss and its degeneration. In the recovery phase, numerous intermingled biochemical pathways involving complex inflammatory reactions cloud the understanding of this yet undiscerned process that also varies with agonal period.
