➢ Psoas abscess is a rare condition with variable presentations that may mimic many other medical diagnoses.➢ A wide variety of underlying medical conditions are associated with an increased risk of the development of a psoas abscess.➢ Mortality rates can be as high as 100% if psoas abscess is undiagnosed and untreated.➢ The classic triad of pain (hip, abdominal, or back), fever, and limp should prompt the clinician to consider psoas abscess in the differential diagnosis.➢ Timely evaluation, including laboratory and imaging studies, may substantially increase the ability of patients with psoas abscess to survive.
