Abstract: 1). BACKGROUND: Cell wall deficient mycobacteria (CWDM) have seldom been isolated in bacterial culture from human subjects. particularly in clinical disease, such as Crohn’s disease. Techniques have focused on the use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the detection of CWDM in association with inflammatory bowel disease. (IBD).
