“…In previous archaeometric analyses (Courtois ; Artzy et al ; Courtois and Velde ; Todd and Hadjicosti ; Knapp and Cherry ; Gomez et al ; Tomlinson et al ; Renson et al ), it has been suggested that the source rocks of the WS clay were derived predominantly from gabbroic rock exposed in the Troodos Massif. Tomlinson et al () analysed WS samples from Kommos (Crete) and associated them with groups from the Limassol area in southern Cyprus, which is classified by Bryan et al (). Renson et al () analysed WS sherds from Minet el‐Beida and concluded that some of the sherds were very similar to the WS sherds produced in the Sanidha region, but some others are different from them.…”
