My journey in physics

Abstract

I am Professor Asghari Maqsood, Ph.D., one of the leading women physicists of Pakistan. In Pakistan a very small fraction of physicists are women and I have worked very hard to be recognized in a field dominated by men. I have been associated with the field of research and teaching in physics for the last 43 years. My field of specialization is materials science and solid state physics. This is my journey from a school girl in Abbottabad to becoming a leader and mentor in physics in Pakistan.Key words: leading woman, physics, leader.Résumé : Je suis la professeure Dr Asghari Maqsood, une femme physicienne de premier plan au Pakistan. Au Pakistan, une très petite fraction des physiciens sont des femmes et j'ai travaillé très dur pour être reconnue dans un champ dominé par les hommes.
