My Double Trouble: An Autobiographical Case Report of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis

Abstract: Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are overlapping, related, but distinct entities. Each occurs as a result of a complex combination of precipitants, genetic predispositions, and variable expression of a self-sustaining proinflammatory state. My case history and clinical course are outlined below. In addition, the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and the expanding armamentarium of treatment options, including their strengths and weaknesses, are discussed in detail.
