“…One of the main assumptions of otolith chemistry as a method for studying population structure is that fish of similar age must be compared (or the same life stage between sites) (Campana, 2014). Due to the difficulty presented in age reading of some specimens, mainly in those caught in tropical areas (Ibáñez, 2016), the age of the fish could not be determined.
