Muscle glycogen unavailability and fat oxidation rate during exercise: Insights from McArdle disease

Abstract: Carbohydrate availability affects fat metabolism during exercise; however, the effects of complete muscle glycogen unavailability on maximal fat oxidation (MFO) rate remain unknown.
