Muon $g-2$, $B\to K^{(*)}μ^+ μ^-$ anomalies, and leptophilic dark matter in $U(1)_{μ-τ}$ gauge symmetry

Abstract: We propose a new class of U (1) µ−τ gauged model that can explain recent flavor anomalies such as muon g −2, b → sµ + µ − , as well as include a scalar dark matter candidate while satisfying all the phenomenological constraints. For this purpose, we add new vectorlike quarks and leptons as well as two inert singlet scalars, one leptophilic and the other leptophobic. In our model b → sµ + µ − anomalies can be explained by loop induced interactions among the SM and exotic quarks and Z gauge boson. In our numeric… Show more

“…Interestingly, several light vector mediator models are regarded as candidate solutions (see, e.g., refs. [59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67]), but also a light scalar mediator have the potential to solve the anomaly [68]. Among the models that we consider in this paper, those in which the muon interacts with the new light boson mediator can explain the (g − 2) µ anomaly.…”

“…The discrepancy between experimental and theoretical values of the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment [83] can be explained by the the L µ − L τ vector mediator model [88][89][90][91], in which the one loop contribution to a µ induced by virtual exchange of Z can be written as [91,113]…”

“…The Muon (g − 2) Collaboration at Fermi National Laboratory [83] has just published a new result on the anomalous muon magnetic moment, and when combined with the old result from Brookhaven National Laboratory [84], induces 4.2σ inconsistency with the SM prediction [85]. Among the numerous and diverse solutions [86,87] to the muon (g − 2) anomaly, the light vector mediator with the L µ − L τ gauge symmetry is regarded as a viable and simple model [88][89][90][91]. In this regard, we are going to investigate the L µ − L τ model using the coherent elastic solar neutrino nucleus scattering in current and future direct detection experiments in this work.…”
