Circular Economy (CE) is a concept that stems from the need to address environmental degradation, social unrest and inequalities, institutional instability, resource scarcity, and economic challenges caused by the linear nature-society-nature systems that the large portion of society operates on. The dissemination of the concept and its implementation has been taking place in several nations and institutions globally, mainly in high-income countries, otherwise known as the Global North (GN). Nevertheless, it remains unclear how the role of CE can be materialized in the low-income contexts, also referred to as the Global South (GS), despite the region being the center of production and starting to experience an expansion towards driving global consumption. Some critical issues include the lack of data, analysis, surveys, discussions, and practical contributions of the CE in the GS. Moreover, compared with the GN and the People's Republic of China specifically, little is known about the status of research conducted and case studies focusing on the GS. This study presents a bibliometric analysis to provide an overview of where and how scientists address the CE concept related to the GS. The findings clarify the most and least explored research themes, thus contributing to the current knowledge on the CE concept's advances and presenting potential relevant research and practice avenues for future focus regarding the GS.

Municipal solid waste (MSW) management has emerged as one of the major environmental challenges globally. The consequences of inappropriate waste management are manifold and the trend would continue if immediate interventions are not taken for its reversion amid rapid urbanization and current consumption patterns of individuals. The concept of circular economy (CE) can contribute to a paradigm shift in the transformation of the traditional linear approach that does not favour reuse, recycle, recovery concept. Modern and proven waste management practices with collection systems, recycling facilities, sanitary landfills, and waste-to-energy (WtE) and nutrient recovery offer opportunities to improve urban environment through the valorization of waste and by-products in a CE. This study scrutinizes the existing literature on the assessment of circularity and helps to develop a unified circularity framework in the management of MSW in cities. Key aspects such as tools for measuring circularity, nexus and trade-offs, and conditions in promoting CE are discussed. Finally, this paper elucidates the need for circularity, including enablers and inhibitors for promoting circularity in the management of MSW with a case study in the city of Curitiba, Brazil.

There has been a remarkable increase in the number of publications on international trade and cryptocurrency in recent years. This paper aims to analyze the literature on international trade and cryptocurrency in the Web of Science database. This study uses the bibliometric method and mapping analysis. The cluster analysis is conducted based on the keyword analysis. These publications are reviewed from different aspects such as type of publication, language, and book title. This study found that 767 articles which are related to cryptocurrency and international trade. Among the countries in which these studies are conducted, China ranks the first, followed by the USA and UK, respectively. Various organizations in different countries support studies on this topic. In conclusion, cryptocurrency technologies draw the attention of academia, and the use of cryptocurrency in international trade will determine the future trade structure. The innovative features of cryptocurrency can develop new business models, which may be the reason for the academic interest in this matter. It will be useful for businesses and governments to follow this potential carefully to benefit from the advantages of innovative business models.
