Abstract: Cardiogenic shock following acute myocardial infarction is associated with high mortality, substantially unchanged for the previous 20 years. Several approaches have been sought to achieve a therapeutic breakthrough, from myocardial revascularization strategies to the use of mechanical circulatory support.
