Multistimuli responsive micelles based on well‐defined amphiphilic comb poly(ether amine) (acPEA)

Abstract: A series of well‐defined amphiphilic comb poly (ether amine)s (acPEAs) were successfully synthesized through nucleophilic addition/ring‐opening reaction of commercial available poly(propylene glycol) (PPO) diglycidyl ether and Jeffamine L100, followed by esterification of hydroxyl groups in backbone by alkyl carboxylic acid with different chain length. acPEAs are comprised of hydrophilic short PEO chains and hydrophobic alkyl chains as comb chains, which are grafted on PPO backbone alternately to form well‐def… Show more

“…The thermoresponsive nanosized aggregates and polymeric particles represent very important type of smart materials [3][4][5][6][7][8]. Aqueous solutions of non-ionic surfactants exemplify the simplest temperature responsive systems, which are able to separate on aqueous and surfactant rich phases as a result of a temperature rise.…”

“…In so doing, micelle properties such as internal core hydrophobicity, size, morphology, and dispersion can be controlled. Recent developments have focused on the fabrication of doubly responsive micelles 18–24. Zhang et al18 have prepared PEO‐b‐P(NIPAAm‐ g ‐DMAEMA) block copolymers, which showed temperature and pH response.…”
