Multiresponse Parameter Optimization for the Composite Tape Winding Process Based on GRA and RSM

The unreasonable shift point will cause a large shift impact, which will affect the engine fuel economy and the service life of the wet clutch. To decrease shift impact on agricultural tractors with HMCVT (Hydromechanical Continuously Variable Transmission) and find the best working point, the following methods are proposed in this paper: firstly, conducting all-factor method and response surface method (RSM) to design and carry out bench test of shift impact; secondly, using the basic linear fitting, RSM, and stepwise regression analysis to establish comprehensive mathematical models and selecting models with high prediction accuracy; thirdly, putting forward the method of determining the weight of variance to match parameters of three quality evaluation indexes with inconsistent correlation; finally, establishing the total shift quality evaluation index and obtaining the optimal shift working point. It is found that oil filling pressure has a significant effect on speed drop, while the engine speed has a significance on the dynamic load and sliding friction. To make the transmission section of the best quality, the oil pressure at this time is 1 MPa and the engine speed is 1040 r/min. The results show that the proposed method can determine the optimal shift point and provide a reference for developing the control strategy.

The camshaft profile is one of the important parameters of the engine, the reasonableness or otherwise of its design directly influences the engine’s power output, fuel consumption, emissions, noise and reliability. However, most existing cam profile optimization designs are based on the basic software operation, profile parameter selection and tuning lack a scientific theoretical basis. In order to address this issue, this study establishes a single valve kinematic model of the gas delivery mechanism of diesel engines by using the AVL-EXCITE Timing Drive, and performs a model-based multinomial kinematic acceleration cam profile design. Subsequently, an orthogonal design method is employed to obtain the parameter combinations that can satisfy the dynamic requirements. The research investigates the influence of cam profile design parameters (C 4, p, q, r, and s) on valve fullness, maximum jerk, cam contact stress, and valve seating force through a systematic study. Lastly, based on the grey correlation theory, a thorough analysis of the performance indices of cams with different profile parameter combinations is conducted. The optimization problem of the profile parameters with multiple performance indicators is transformed into a single-objective grey relational optimization problem, resulting in the optimal cam profile parameter combination of C4 =0.1, p=14, q=20, r=28 and s=36. The optimal method proposed in the paper is straightforward to implement and is applicable to the optimum design of cam profiles of the engine, which is of great importance for the optimal design of cam fabrication processes.

Construction industries are rapidly growing, sacking high amounts of concrete which has a highly dense microstructure with excellent mechanical properties, more durable, and highly eco-friendly materials. Hence, many of the researchers are interested in solving this problem with replacing concrete by natural pozzolana (NP) which is a supplementary cementitious material mostly from volcanic sources having much active silica content that can improve the durability and mechanical properties of concrete. However, it is not well-known which common optimum replacement range can give the most desirable concrete properties. So, the present study sought to review the effects of replacing NP from volcanic sources on the durability, physical, mechanical, and microstructural properties of concrete, also, to identify the most common dose of a positive effect as a replacement in concrete. The review shows that many of NP used by different literature from different places satisfy ASTM replacement standard in concrete, especially, based on its chemical compositions. Also, the review observed that employing NP in concrete significantly improves concrete workability, lengthens setting time, and reduces bulk density, porosity, water absorption, and chloride ion migration by making denser concrete microstructure. In general, adding 5%–20% of NP in concrete significantly improves compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strength. Specifically, most of the studies found 15% replacement of NP having volcanic sources can give optimum strength. Besides these, most of the studies indicated that the improvement of the strength was more visible at the concrete age of 7–28 days.
