Multiresponse Optimization of Wire Electrical Discharge Machining Parameters for Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo (α-β) Alloy Using Taguchi-Grey Relational Approach

Abstract: The Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo alloy was machined using the wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) method in this research. The consequences of input values like pulse on duration, wire tension, and wire feed on metal removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (SR) have indeed been observed. After conducting 27 experiments using Taguchi’s L27 type of research technique, empirical designing and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were performed. For process optimization, the Taguchi technique, which is based on the grey rel… Show more

“…is uid circulates to remove molten debris from the work area while it is being machined. You can use wire EDM to make complex forms out of conductive metals like aluminum, copper, brass, titanium, and other alloys [2]. While other technologies can produce thin walls with low surface roughness and short internal corner radii, wire EDM has the advantage of having the least amount of burrs [3].…”

“…Additionally, for a qualitative evaluation of the percentage contribution of the individual parameter on the GRG, the % mean of squares is shown in Table 4. The significant effects of Toff and interaction effects of Current and Toff, is clearly demonstrated in terms of their % MS, which are one order larger than the effects of other individual parameters or combinatorial/quadratic effects [26,27]. The influence of the different parameters on GRG is also presented in terms of a Pareto chart of the standardized effects (see Figure 5).…”

“…A few nanomaterials, for example, nanotubes, nanorods, nanowires, slight movies and nanoparticles are investigated for biomedical utilization because of their utilitarian electrical as well as mechanical highlights for biomedical operation. For the manufacturing of pathogenic viral biosensors, we are concentrating on the utilisation of various nanomaterials like quantum dots (QDs), carbon nanotubes, graphene oxide, silica and metal nanoparticles [13].…”
