Cybersecurity risk management in land administration systems is crucial for maintaining the integrity of spatial cadastral data, which faces increasing threats owing to the digital transformation of LAS. This research validates the findings of this preliminary step in the form of a cyber risk management methodology that combines BPMN 2.0 with model business processes implemented by a compliance-based approach using EBIOS Risk Manager. A practical case of land parcel subdivision in Indonesia is analysed to serve as a proof of concept for our proposed methodology. Vulnerabilities are identified and are characterised by a concentration of manual tasks and the absence of systematic controls, resulting in significant risks to data integrity. These findings underscore the urgent need for a proactive approach to strengthen the cyber resilience of LAS. This study attempts to develop a fit-for-purpose reference methodology for cyber risk management specifically tailored to LAS to identify and treat vulnerabilities, threats, risks, and impacts.

Toponymy, a transversal discipline for geography, linguistics, and history, finds one of its main supports in cartography. Due to exhaustiveness on the territory, cadastral cartography and its toponymy have the ideal characteristics to develop systematic geographical analyses. Moreover, cadastre and geographical names are part of the geographic reference data according to Annex 1 of the INSPIRE directive. This work presents the design, implementation, and application of a methodology based on Geographic Information Systems and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools for detecting coincidences between the cadastral geoinformation and the official gazetteer corresponding to the province of Gipuzkoa, Spain. Methodologically, this study proposes a solution to the issues raised by bilingualism in the study area. This problem is approached a priori, in the previous data treatment, and a posteriori, applying semantic criteria. The results show a match between the datasets of close to 40%. In this way, the uniqueness and richness of the analyzed source and its outstanding contribution to the potential integration of the official toponymic corpus are evidenced.

Over the past few years, the developments of geographical information science (GIS) and computer‐based infrastructures have dramatically changed the way cadastral systems are operated and used. Such developments led to several digitalization efforts that have developed and improved existing cadastres worldwide. While large cadastres have been primarily and successfully developed, they can still be considered ineffective for several reasons. Some cadastres in developing countries, particularly Africa, are not fully automated and do not provide efficient land management capabilities. While in other countries, although fully automated, they suffer from long time delays in processing the parcel‐based information from the initial surveys, incomplete synchronization, poor security, and adequate service provision to the public. Where lack of records and failing synchronizations for the core cadastre information systems are observed and their underlying reasons identified it is possible to remedy the situation using temporal GIS models designed for cadastral data management.
