Multipole modes of excitation in triaxially deformed superfluid nuclei

Abstract: Background:The five-dimensional quadrupole collective model based on energy density functionals (EDFs) has often been employed to treat long-range correlations associated with shape fluctuations in nuclei. Our goal is to derive the collective inertial functions in the collective Hamiltonian by the local quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) that correctly takes into account time-odd mean-field effects. Currently, a practical framework to perform the QRPA calculation with the modern EDFs on the (β,γ )… Show more

“…In order to explore the multipole excitations in triaxially deformed superfluid nuclei, latest developments include the implementation of the FAM-QRPA in three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate space [218]. The ISGMR has also been studied within the approaches going beyond the (Q)RPA, e.g., by including the quasi-particle-phonon coupling at the level of the time-blocking approximation [233], and second RPA based on Skyrme and Gogny functionals [234].…”

“…Further theoretical investigations are necessary to reproduce these collective excitations. One of the improvements for the 5D collective model is a new theoretical approach to use modern Skyrme energy density functionals instead of the P+Q Hamiltonian[57]. Improvements of effective interactions are also important. The squared wave functions of the 0 + 2 state in 106,108,110 Mo with SLy5+T indicate β vibrational motion.…”
