Multiply Twisted Chiral Macrocycles Clamped by Tethered Binaphthyls Exhibiting High Circularly Polarized Luminescence Brightness

Abstract: This cover represents the three kinds of chiral cyclic compounds and their mirror-image isomers described in the paper. The cover was created by using a "kaleidoscope" motif to project the three pairs of enantiomers in the central hexagon. The kaleidoscope (from the Greek kalos "beautiful"), an optical device invented in the 19th century as a result of experiments on polarized light, was used to represent the aesthetically pleasing and circularly polarized luminescent (CPL) molecules.
