Multiplicity adjustment for temporal and spatial scan statistics using Markov property

Abstract: We discuss computation of the conditional expectation in a multinomial distribution. The problem is motivated by the evaluation of the multiplicity-adjusted p-value of scan statistics in spatial epidemiology.
