Multiple Sklerose 2019 – Update zu Diagnostik und Therapie

Abstract: Die Multiple Sklerose ist eine chronisch-entzündliche und neurodegenerative Erkrankung des zentralen Nervensystems (ZNS), deren Pathogenese in einer fehlgeleiteten Immunreaktion autoreaktiver Zellen gegenüber Myelin und Axonen gesehen wird. Nach dem derzeitigen Wissensstand wird diese autoimmune Reaktion sowohl durch genetische als auch durch Umweltfaktoren modifiziert, was schließlich zur Markscheidenschädigung (Demyelinisierung) und axonalen Degeneration führt.
