Multiple perspectives of congruence: relationships between value congruence and employee attitudes

Abstract: Phylogenetic inference based on evidence from DNA sequences has led to significant strides in the development of a stable and robustly supported framework for the vertebrate tree of life. To date, the bulk of those advances have relied on sequence data from a small number of genome regions that have proven unable to produce satisfactory answers to consistently recalcitrant phylogenetic questions. Here, we reexamine phylogenetic relationships among early-branching euteleostean fish lineages classically grouped … Show more

“…Alternatively, policy-capturing designs (e.g., Kristof-Brown, Jansen, & Colbert, 2002), or perceptual measures of fit (Ostroff, Shin, & Kinicki, 2005), can be used across cultures to assess the notion that person-organization fit is a stronger determinant of individuals' outcomes in tight societies. Proposition 10 also suggests that the impact of diversity in teams would benefit from a tight-loose perspective.…”

“…Because the intrinsic and extrinsic goals prevailing in the environment were not subjectively assessed but instead were experimentally induced, the present research allowed for a direct examination of the effect of an objective personenvironment match (Ostroff et al, 2005).…”

“…The collective term for this is 'work climate' (i.e., that set of shared perceptions regarding the policies, practices, and procedures that an organisation rewards, supports and expects) (Schneider and Reichers, 1983). Ostroff et al (2005) studied the relative importance of multiple types of value congruence and discovered that perceptual fit across hierarchical levels was an important influencer of performance outcomes. Results of their study also revealed that employees' fit with their workgroup manager was more important than their fit with the other members of the established workgroup.…”
