Multiple Lesions Arising Within a Tattoo: Challenge

Abstract

A 52-year-old man, with no history of skin cancer, presented with complaint of itchy bumps on his right forearm within a tattoo he obtained approximately 3 months before presentation. Within 1 month of receiving the tattoo, he began to develop 2 skin lesions overlying red areas within the tattoo. These lesions grew in size over the ensuing 2 months, and during this time, he noted several additional lesions developing within or adjacent to red ink used in the tattoo. He noted that the colors in the tattoo were similar to his other tattoos, but the red seemed darker than the red shade in his other tattoos.
