Multiple Hypoxia-Independent Triggers of Upper Airway Long-Term Facilitation

Abstract: The respiratory control system can augment respiratory output following repetitive challenges. For example, repeated airway obstructions can trigger a form of respiratory memory that strengthens inspiratory activity of hypoglossal (XII) motoneurons.
