Abstract:The effect of two sublethal concentrations (15, 30 mg/l) of Cr 6+ on Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus has been studied using some hematological and biochemical parameters aiming to evaluate their possible potential use as biomarkers of stress and/or defense. Hemoglobin content decreased throughout the experiment period, compared to the control. Moreover, the plasma glucose content and uric acid increased in both Cr 6+ concentrations. Plasma urea decreased during the first 24 hr of exposure, then it increase… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
