“…Table 2 shows the intervention, comparison group, sample size, Hedges's g effect size, 95% Confidence Interval, and p-value for the five studies that assessed an intervention's effectiveness in reducing alcohol use for juvenile offenders. While all of the studies yielded a decrease in offenders' alcohol use, only two of the studies found statistically significant result (Friedman, Terras, & Glassman, 2002;Henggeler, Pickrel, & Brondino, 1999). Friedman et al (2002) compared 24 sessions of Triple Modality Social Learning -a classroom-based intervention composed of substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, and values clarification lessons -to basic residential treatment.…”
