I: Questo studio presenta i risultati di una ricerca qualitativa sull'interazione di bambini e adolescenti dagli 8 ai 13 anni con siti web creati da adulti per bambini per promuovere consapevolezza sull'ecologia e comportamenti eco-sostenibili. Il quadro teorico di riferimento è l'analisi critica multimodale e la multiliteracy. Le domande di ricerca principali vertono sui seguenti punti: 1. Quali sono i livelli di consapevolezza critica in bambini e adolescenti dagli 8 ai 13 anni in relazione a testi multimodali sull'ecologia creati da adulti per sensibilizzare bambini e adolescenti su tematiche eco-sostenibili? 2. Come variano gli aspetti di consapevolezza critica multimodale tra gli 8 e i 13 anni? Gli ambiti di interesse comprendono due aspetti principali: a) la competenza delle strategie multimodali e di multiliteracy per contesti di narrative eco-sostenibili; b) i livelli di partecipazione nell'azione sociale attraverso testi multimodali. L'analisi qualitativa dei dati contribuisce a formulare linee guida per promuovere competenze di autonomia digitale e di multiliteracy. Lo scopo ultimo è promuovere in maniera efficace la comunicazione eco-sostenibile attraverso la consapevolezza critica multimodale per fasce d'età e comunità di pratica diverse (PRIN project: ACT MACE 2009-2011). Abstract II:The present study focuses on ecological narratives for children as presented in websites. The paper summarises the results of a qualitative research study on the interaction of children and adolescents aged from 8 to 13 with adult-generated websites promoting awareness about ecology and positive action about ecological behaviour. This study is carried out within the theoretical frameworks of critical multimodal digital literacy and multiliteracy. The main research questions addressed in the present paper are: 1. What are the levels of critical awareness in children and adolescents (from age 8 to 13) when engaged with multimodal texts about ecology produced by adults for the purpose of children education? 2. How do phenomena related to critical awareness vary within a developmental perspective from Grade 3 to Grade 8? The key areas of investigation encompass two wide-ranging aspects: a) Awareness of multimodal/multiliteracy strategies to decode eco-sustainable narra- Le SimplegadiVol.

This paper is about the introduction and use of Multimodal Analysis (MDA) as a research methodology in subtitling of audiovisual products. Its aim is to show the contribution of the MDA to the analysis of multi-semiotic resources in audiovisual products and their influences on the subtitling. Although many scholars have realized that audiovisual products employ different types of signs to create meanings, the focus remains primarily on their linguistic features. The paper elaborates on the theoretical and practical aspects of the MDA methodology, and provides a case study to show how the methodology works in the subtitling process of audiovisual products, in particular the subtitling of interviews. Finally, it concludes the paper with some suggestions for further research.

Relaciones retóricas y multimodalidad en el género Informe de Política Monetaria del discurso académico de la Economía 1 Rhetoric relations and multimodality in the Monetary Policy Report genre of academic discourse of the Economy RESUMEN -Esta investigación busca identifi car y cuantifi car, desde la perspectiva multimodal del género, las relaciones intersemióticas entre el artefacto gráfi co y su contexto verbal en el Informe de Política Monetaria -IPOM-del Banco Central de Chile en una muestra de 14 textos. Junto a ello, también se describe la evolución histórica de las relaciones intersemióticas que se presentan en la muestra de textos del IPOM. Este género resulta interesante de investigar, ya que ha sido recolectado de manera ecológica a partir de los programas de estudio de los estudiantes de Economía de dos universidades chilenas y defi nido por los docentes como un género esencial en la inserción disciplinar en Economía. Lo anterior porque se trata de un género discursivo 'importado', es decir, que se produce en un contexto profesional, pero que es utilizado en un contexto universitario. En este contexto, este estudio emplea la propuesta taxonómica de la Teoría Retórica Estructural (RST, por su nombre en inglés) para el análisis intersemiótico del género. Tras el análisis, los hallazgos se concentran principalmente en tres direcciones. Primero, la relación de Contenido de mayor frecuencia es la Elaboración (63%). Segundo, la relación de Presentación más relevante es la de Fondo (61%). Y, tercero, la direccionalidad en la relación entre el artefacto Gráfi co y el sistema verbal corresponde principalmente al tipo Núcleo-Satélite (79%). Estos datos permiten sostener que la construcción de signifi cados a partir de las relaciones intersemióticas en el género IPOM se produce tomando al gráfi co como eje central del signifi cado y que el contexto verbal participa como Satélite, aportando información del Núcleo que el escritor considera relevante para orientar la comprensión del lector.Palabras clave: relaciones retóricas, multimodalidad, género IPOM, gráfi co, RST.ABSTRACT -This study seeks to identify and to quantify the intersemiotic relations between the artifact Graphic and its verbal context in the Monetary Policy Report (MPR) of the Central Bank of Chile in a sample of 14 texts. At the same time, it describes the historic evolution of the intersemiotic relations that emerge in the corpus sample. This is an interesting genre to study because it has been found ecologically as part of the syllabi of Economic in two Chilean universities. This genre is defi ned by the teachers as an essential genre for the disciplinary insertion in Economy due to its 'imported' profi le, in other words, the report is generated in a professional context, but it was found in an academic context. From this scenario, this article provides, from a multimodal perspective, an intersemiotic genre analysis based on the Rhetoric Structural Theory.
