Multilinear regression analysis on solid waste generation quantity in Malaysia towards sustainable development

Abstract: Inadequate data will affect the efficiency of future planning of solid waste management in order to achieve sustainable development. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of a number of factors, namely GDP, Demand of electricity, Population and Number of Employment, which could be applied to predict the solid waste generation quantities and improve the management of future planning. The data were statistically analyzed by conducting a bivariate analysis and multilinear regression analysis. The… Show more

“…This process consists of complex and dynamics behaviour and happen to be a worldwide problem, including Malaysia. Due to rapid population, changing life style, urbanization process towards sustainable development and uncontrollable increment in solid waste generation [1]- [3] made it as an fundamental and seek attention from researchers for finding a better solution for future sustainable world. The quality of life especially in urban area, where congested with citizens requires a systematic and effective of solid waste management.…”

“…Moreover, these rapid processes have relatively changed the characteristics of the Malaysian solid waste generation and the demand for a better quality of life among Malaysians [18]. The efficiency of future planning of solid waste management in order to achieve sustainable development has been affected by inadequate data and information on waste generation [21]. Solid waste generation in Malaysia has reached a dynamic perspective mainly on the amount of the solid waste generated and the composition of solid waste ( .…”
